Thomas 'Ted' Grant
Thomas "Ted" Grant, 75,
of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at East Texas Medical Center of
Tyler.
Funeral services are set for
2 p.m. Friday, March 8, at
First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville with the Rev. Ed Dobson officiating.
Burial follows in Stone Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral
Homes of Bogata.
The family receives friends from
6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at
the funeral home.
He was born
May 28, 1932, in Clarksville, the son of
Thomas Senter and Margaret Sade Grant. He served in the U.S. Army beginning Oct.
15, 1961, and was discharged to the National Guard serving 2 years 9 months and
26 days. He considered himself a master butcher. He began his long career with
the Pea Ridge Meat Packing Company of Annona. Through the years he owned and
operated several businesses including a butcher shop and restaurant and Walker
Station Restaurant of Clarksville, Rancher Market of Dallas and Main Street
Restaurant of Clarksville.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ed Grant.
He is survived by his family which
includes three daughters, Debbie Barnett and husband, David, of Clarksville,
Sharon Meredith of Paris and Tedra Jackson of Dallas; brother, Dickie Grant and
wife, Lou, of Lewisville; a sister, Judy Davis, and husband, Bob, of Lewisville;
eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a special companion, Dottie
Williams, of Clarksville.
